Das Biosph\u00e4rengebiet Schw\u00e4bische Alb geh\u00f6rt seit dem 26. Mai 2009 dazu. Davon befinden sich in Deutschland 15 Biosph\u00e4renreservate neben 14 National- und \u00fcber 100 Naturparke. Nationalparke sch\u00fctzen das Naturerbe urspr\u00fcnglicher \u00d6kosysteme (h\u00f6chs\u00adter Schutzstatus). Biosph\u00e4renreservate sind gro\u00dfr\u00e4umige Schutzgebiete, die aus repr\u00e4sentativen Bereichen an Natur- und Kulturlandschaften bestehen. Hier sollen beispielhaft umweltvertr\u00e4gliche Lebens- und Nutzungskonzepte entwickelt werden.
